Seema Yasmin, MD
Medical Doctor | Journalist | Professor
Seema Yasmin, MD, is an award-winning journalist and director of the Stanford Health Communication Initiative who focuses on solutions to stop the spread of health misinformation and disinformation.
She is a clinical assistant professor in Stanford University’s Department of Medicine and teaches crisis management and communications at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Yasmin served as an officer in the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she investigated outbreaks of Ebola, Zika, and other infectious diseases around the world. She is a medical analyst for CNN, and her writing on health and science issues and the intersection of race, gender, and health has appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, WIRED, Scientific American and other outlets.

ADM Rachel L. Levine, MD, FAAP
Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services | Admiral, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Admiral Rachel L. Levine, MD, FAAP, serves as assistant secretary for health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is head of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. She is working to ensure health equity is front and center so all people in our nation can thrive.
As a pediatrician and adolescent medicine specialist in academic medicine, Dr. Levine focused on the intersection between mental and physical health. She also served as Pennsylvania’s physician general and secretary of health, addressing COVID-19, the opioid crisis, behavioral health, and other public health challenges. Dr. Levine received the AAP Child Health Advocate Award from the Committee on State Government Affairs in 2020.
