The San Diego Convention Center is the heart of the 2026 National Conference & Exhibition and will house registration, Connections Corner, educational sessions, exhibits, poster hall and plenary sessions. The convention center is surrounded by multiple conference hotels and will be filled with exciting activities each day!

Next to the San Diego Convention Center, the Marriott Marquis will be the host to many AAP Section/Council Programs, committee meetings, poster hall, and satellite registration.

On the other end of the San Diego Convention Center, the Hilton San Diego will be the host to many receptions.

San Diego International Airport is serviced by all major US domestic airlines and many international carriers. Serving over 22 million passengers per year, it is the busiest single runway airport in the US.  It is located approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from the convention center and takes about 10-15 minutes by car in light traffic.  The airport also has multiple public transportation options for travel to the convention center and beyond.

For National Conference & Exhibition attendees traveling from within Southern California, a great alternative to flying or driving is Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Service. The San Diego Santa Fe station is located 1.5 miles (2 km) away from the convention center and takes only a few minutes by car or trolly.
Constructed to welcome the world to the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, the Santa Fe Depot is a city landmark known for its soaring towers and tiled domes. For more information about the San Diego Santa Fe Station, click HERE.

Rental Cars

Most major car rental companies have facilities at San Diego International Airport.

The AAP is pleased to offer the following car rental discounts, generally 5%-10% off regular rental rates.  Please follow the instructions below when booking on the car rental company’s website.

  • Zipcar: AAP members who enroll will receive $45 off first annual membership and a waived application fee ($25).

Please note that daily parking fees are charged at the convention center and all National Conference & Exhibition hotels (where available).

Parking

The San Diego Convention Center has an onsite underground parking garage that can be accessed on Harbor Drive. Parking rates range due to event activity and payment is due upon entry. There is no in-and-out privileges. Overnight parking is not permitted.

Handicapped Accessible Parking:

There are 31 ADA-compliant parking stalls with elevator access to the Convention Center. A valid state-issued handicapped placard or license plate is required. All disability parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
